Machine Shop Lead/Supervisor/Manager

 

All-Pro Threaded Tooling Shop Location:

Essential Functions:

  • Represent Shop Supervisor; assure that shift workers are working, work is flowing and proper resources are deployed to assure that schedules are being met.
  • Write and modify programs and program the machine control as required using MDI.
  • Troubleshoot and manage any interruptions or deterrents to production.
  • Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet required spec.
  • Document and maintain inspection reports, material specifications and other documents for all manufactured parts.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance – repair or make new parts for existing machinery.
  • Participate in the hiring, training and disciplining of new and existing employees.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced workers.  Implement a cross training program.

 

Education / Experience required:

More than 5 years machine tool experience with expertise in the use of CNC equipment, or equivalent combination of experience with vocational education.

Practical experience with conventional machines i.e.: Bridgeport Mills, Engine Lathes, Center-less Grinders, Roll Thread Machines and Landis Cut Thread Machines

 

Other skills required: 

  • Understanding of G-Code – enough to write programs and program the machine control
  • Ability to work independently with minimal support.
  • Ability to motivate shift workers.
  • Creative problem solving and strong people management skills
  • Ability to perform all manual operations and demonstrate a high skill level on all types of CNC equipment; knows appropriate tooling to be used for operation
  • Ability to troubleshoot most problems with milling and turning machines
  • Ability to read and fully understand/interpret complex blueprints/written specs and basic measuring equipment.

 

  • Special consideration to those who have the following:
  • Bi-Lingual – English/Spanish
  • Mori-Seiki, Hitachi Seiki, Kia, Hurco BMC 30/M, Okuma Howa or BP Interact 516 experience Machine experience
  • Fanuc 5T, Facut 6T, Fanuc OI TC, Fanuc 16TA, OSP 3000L control experience
